Case Manufacturing

Based on your caliber requirements, D&M uses proprietary equipment for rifle or pistol case manufacturing by either the cup or wire method.

Our case lines use a transfer press method, where copper annealed cups are drawn before going through a wash process. The drawn tubes are then run through a header press which creates the head stamp and primer pocket.

Following another wash cycle, the cases proceed to head turn machines and trimming. Cases then go through a chip separation process followed by induction annealing for both body and mouth. The neck is then formed using a progressive taper press. Our approach minimized material stress and prevents cracking.

Parts are polished in a wash/polish system, and all finished cartridge cases undergo our proprietary high speed inspection.

Pistol cases follow a similar process but do not require tapering or trimming.
